FOUNDER’S DAY REUNION CELEBRATION

We are hoping that everyone can make plans to come and enjoy the
festivities with us in Honolulu during the July 4 to July 6, 2013 weekend.

Here is a little background on our Founder. In 1969 a group of cousins
approached Theodore D. Hussey (Alexander Line) and asked if he would
take on the job of starting a Hui of cousins. He considered it and replied
that he would. Each year from 1969 to 1978, the Hussey Ohana has
enjoyed meeting many Hussey Cousins from all over the islands and
abroad, often for the first time. Then after ten years, we decided that
we would take a rest. The “rest” took many years before we met again.
The last ohana gathering was held on July 4, 2000. Again we had a big
party and enjoyed seeing everyone. Many of our Cousins are now gone,
including Theodore, and so the committee has decided that now is the time
to have another gathering to honor his 100th birthday anniversary.

As you can see, we have big plans for the three day weekend in July
2013. I will give you a glimpse of each. Please know that planning for an
event like this takes months of preparation which prompts us to put this
information out to you as soon as we can in order that you can plan to
attend the A & K Hussey Cousin Society festivities next year!

Place: Hawaii Okinawa Center, 94-587 Ukee St., Waipo Gentry (of Waipahu)

Time: 5 pm to 10 pm
Menu: Hawaiian Food

We have an early bird special on the ticket prices. The earlier you buy your tickets the cheaper it will be. There will be lots of parking.

We know that many people will be working that day so we are planning
to have a picnic for those who can come during the day and then have
The Family Kanikapila in the evening.

Food: As to what to bring will be announced later on our website.

Activity: Swimming, story telling and more.
